I was brought up on Ynys Mȏn, The Isle of Anglesey, and am a fluent first language Welsh speaker. I am passionate about sharing my love of my homeland with visitors and those with a specific interest in the region’s history, particularly its art and architectural history. In addition to being an Official North Wales Green Badge Guide I also work as an Art Historian at both the University of Liverpool and in the Visitor Experience Team at TATE Liverpool. I am specifically interested in how the landscape of North Wales has inspired and influenced generations of artists from the middle of the eighteenth century to today. In addition to guiding I give lectures and talks to Art Society groups, I am an accredited lecturer, as well as writing on a variety of topics within the art world. One of my specific tours considers how the landscape of North Wales was instrumental in developing JMW Turner’s unique perception and sense of romantic sentiment within his paintings.
