I have been working in tourism in the Cardiff and South Wales for 15 years. I enjoy working with groups of all sizes and offer a range of different tours. The IndustriaI Revolution, social history, film and television, Cardiff Castle, Cardiff Bay and its development and management, gardens, medieval history and religious practises are some of the topics I enjoy highlighting on my tours. I particularly enjoy working with individuals and groups of up to three people. I offer a 4 hour Cardiff experience for this size of group using local travel options. Larger groups who arrive by coach can also take advantage of this tour.
I am also qualified to guide adults with additional learning needs and have several years experience studying British Sign Language. Adapting my tours to the needs of my clients is very important to me.

Countryside
As a keen walker and frequent visitor to the countryside of South East Wales I take an active interest in the countryside, it's practises and traditions, changes over time and the ecology. I always have interesting thisngs to talk about when out and about in Wales's wonderful outdoors.
Copper Coal and Iron
Wales as a powerhouse of the industrial Revolution is an important part of Wales' history. Being based in the South East, the epicentre of activities surround copper processing, and iron and coal mining and export I have a wealth of information regarding these industries to share with my clients. From the daily gind of the worker to the coal and shipping magnates and the humble miner's holidays.
Folklore and Traditions
Ancient traditions in Wales stretching as far back as the Iron Age have shaped the countryside and human behaviour ever since. As humans deviated from some of these practices, the effects on our landscape, society and ecology have become apparent. Nowadays, scientists and ecologists look back at some the ancient land management pactices and have begun to reinstigate them with very positive results. Traditions lost to certain areas have been reintroduced. I have a keen interest in practises surrounding land management, building, sacred trees, burials and countrylife.
Nature and Wildlife
Growing up surrounded by nature I am very familiar with the birds and mammals commonly found in Wales (and not so commonly). I am also interested in plants, from great trees to mosses and lichens. Understanding our countryside and the nature within it is very important to me. One of my most recent hobbies is finding patches of temperate rainforests within Wales and Scotland, understanding it's importance and how to protect it.
