I am a fluent Welsh speaker living in Rhosgadfan near walled town of Caernarfon with a Masters degree in Welsh history and my field of interest is the contemporary period. Wales or Cymru is my country, and Cymraeg (Welsh) is my mother tongue, and with my passion and authority of history, with an element of fun, I can uncover the finest of Welsh culture. For further information, please visit my site.
Os ydych yn siaradwr Cymraeg newydd neu’n awyddus i ddysgu, beth am gysylltu i drefnu taith dywys yn yr ardaloedd ble mae’r Gymraeg ar ei chryfaf er mwyn cyfoethogi ac ehangu eich dealltwriaeth o Gymru a hanes y Gymraeg. Dyma fy ngwefan
History and Prehistory
Neolithic sites such as Barclodiad y Gawres, native Welsh and Edwardian castles are my fields of interest. The periods range from the Neolithic period; the Age of the Welsh Princes 1100-1282; the Revolt of Owain Glyn Dŵr 1400-15; The modern period and the twentieth century from 1750 to 2000 which includes the rise of Non-conformism, cultural and national re-awakening, the language revival and the national movement of the 1960's.
Welsh Language
Join me on a journey of the Welsh language throughout history. I can provide walking tours for Welsh learners, to learn from literature, culture and history. I work with Nant Gwrtheyrn, the national language centre to provide an immersive experience for learners in their learning experience.
Castles
I have extensive knowledge of native Welsh Castles of Cricieth, Castell y Bere, Dolbadarn as well as the Edwardian Castles of Harlech, Caernarfon and Conwy.
Slate and Slate Landscape
I live near the Slate Trail which was designated UNESCO world heritage site recently. I take groups to local slate quarries and the Slate museum. This part of north west Wales was made famous during nineteenth and twentieth century as the centre for Welsh slate that roofed the whole world.
Music, Culture and Poetry
I have great knbowledge of Welsh language contemporary music and I also give guided tours in the stomping ground of writers and poets TH Parry Williams, Caradog Pritchard and Kate Roberts in north west Wales.
