Best of Wales - general interest tours
Best of Wales is a broad definition. Pretty villages, quirky towns, castles, expansive beaches, lighthouses, fine dining, ancient pubs, streams, waterfalls, iconic bridges, heritage railways, magnificent gardens, stately homes, neolithic monuments, fascinating history, mesmerising geology. My list could go on & on - there is something for everyone, here in beautiful North Wales.
Castles
Beaumaris Castle, Conwy Castle, Caernarfon Castle - three magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Three diverse and distinctive castles built by Edward I as part of his "Iron Ring of Fortresses" to subjugate the rebellious people of Wales.Visitors travel from all over the world to marvel at the magnificent constructions and walk in the footsteps of history.
Countryside
Wherever you are in North Wales, you will appreciate the natural beauty of the landscape. Whether it's the green fields with rippling streams, the pastoral farming lands, gentle rolling hills or the soaring grandeur of the mountains with cascading torrents. You will be impressed by the variety and beauty which is clearly evident.
Slate and Slate Landscape
The rugged slate landscape that we see today in Eryri (Snowdonia) tells the story of an industrial revolution which started in this location in the 1780's, leaving an indelible print, not just on the landscape, but also on the people and culture of the area. This is the most recent World Heritage site in Wales.
