Day 1 - Travel into Wales. Overnight North Wales

Day 2 - Caernarfon Castle (pictured above), Snowdonia National Park, National Slate Museum and Llanberis Lake Railway. Overnight North Wales.

Day 3 - Conwy Castle & Town Walls, Snowdonia National Park, village of Betws y Coed, 'slate capital' of Blaenau Ffestiniog and narrow guage slate railway to Porthmadog. Overnight North Wales

Day 4 - Beaumaris Castle on the Isle of Anglesey. Penrhyn Casltle and Port Penrhyn (built from the wealth on the slate industry). Overnight North Wales

Day 5 - Riverside Town of Llangollen, Pontcysyllte Aquaduct and Canal with trip on canal boat. Overnight North Wales

Day 6 - Harlech Castle, Talyllyn Slate railway to port of Tywyn, Cambrian Mountains, Brecon Beacons National Park. Overnight South East Wales

Day 7 - Blaenavon World Heritage Site, National Mining Museum, Blaenavon Ironworks. Overnight South East Wales
