TOUR DESCRIPTION
At Caerleon you can learn what made the Romans a formidable force, and everything about how they lived, fought, relaxed, worshipped and died. Clever interpretation brings the Roman baths to life - a lesiure complex where the soldiers could relax and recuperate. The Museum dispalys an intenationally important collection of half a million objects that tell the story of the Romans in thee furthest outpost of the Roman Empire. Nearby are the remains of the soldiers' barracks and the amphitheatre where gladiator and wild beast fights enthralled the popiulation. Some say Caerleon was the location of King Arthur's Camelot!
All the roman sites are in close proximity. There is a choice of cafes, pubs and restaurants in the town.

Entrance to the Roman Fortress and Baths and to the National Roman Legion Museum is free.
