Wales has the densest concentration of castles in the world (over 600). Each has a fascinating tale to tell - not least the resilience of the native people.
From the archaeological ruins of Promontory and Hilltop Forts, to the magnificent, moated Caerphilly Castle - in size, second only to Windsor’s regal residence.
I love bringing the story of our castles to life - Cardiff, Castell Coch, Raglan, Usk and Chepstow - to name but a few.
The how, when and why they were built, their development, events, and especially, the key personalities and daily life of the people.

I am a keen gardener, and delight in visiting gardens, throughout the year. The changing seasons always provides new interest, inspiration and the feel-good factor.
Historic gardens near Cardiff, include the N.T. properties of Tredegar House and Duffryn Gardens, and in ancient Cowbridge, a Physic Garden.
Cardiff has “green lungs” with lots of public parks and gardens, enabling city dwellers to recharge - try Bute Park or Roath Park Lake.
Many private gardens, welcome visitors by arrangement - something groups might like to consider.
I can provide Guided Heritage Walks for all options.

Natur und Tierwelt
In South East Wales, you are never far from nature, in all its forms; and Cardiff has easy access to all - breathtaking seascapes; lush, green pastureland; wild, dramatic mountain ranges; rivers, lakes and winding valleys.
Westwards stretches the Glamorgan Heritage Coast; with cliffs, rocks, fossils, and dinosaur bones, set down in the Jurassic period.
Eastwards lies the Wye Valley National landscape, an area of outstanding beauty - where in the mid-1700's the concept of tourism was born.
Go North and you will find the grandeur of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.
