Born and educated in Wales I’m professionally qualified to guide all over Wales as well as the West Country of England. You will discover why our red dragons are very welcoming – Croeso! My day tours can start in South Wales, Bristol, or Bath. Longer tours can start anywhere in Wales or South West England – you could even tour 2 Celtic countries – Wales and Cornwall. Each tour has something different to offer. I can make a bespoke tour of a combination of my special interests just for you and can include coast and countryside walks as well as towns and cities. Whether it’s walking or coach tours, small group tours or private hire vehicles with chauffeur, I usually guide in English, but how about learning a few key words of Welsh along the way? Whatever you choose you can be assured of a personal, well organised tour, carried out in an enthusiastic and friendly style, always attentive to visitors’ needs. I am experienced in guiding small and large groups whose first language is not English but who would like to improve their skills.
Y Gorau o Gymru - teithiau diddordeb cyffredinol
An insight into Wales showing highlights from the Romans to medieval castles, cathedrals and abbeys, landscapes, industry and agriculture and any aspect of its special culture -Welsh language and literature, can be captured in a 1 or 2 day tour based in Cardiff. Alternatively travel further afield throughout Wales by coach, rail, or private tour to gain a deeper insight into why Wales is special. With 7 National Museums, 3 National Parks and 4 World Heritage Sites spread across Wales I can advise on the best places to see, whatever aspect of Wales interests you.
Cestyll
Digon i ddewis o fan hyn! Mwy na 400 o gestyll wedi'u hadeiladu o'r 11eg-20fed ganrif - dewch o hyd i'r drysau castell hynaf, y castell mwyaf rhamantus, castell ffantasi, y castell mwyaf; neu gestyll a godwyd gan dywysogion Cymreig, brenhinoedd Lloegr ac arglwyddi'r Mers a chestyll wedi'u datblygu'n ucheldiroedd gyda thrysor enfawr. Dringwch i ben y grisiau tro i gael golygfeydd gwych a chlywed straeon, nid yn unig am yr hanes a’r bensaernïaeth, ond hefyd hanesion rhyfeddol y bobl a oedd yn byw yno sy’n dod â’r cyfan yn fyw.
Eglwysi, Capeli ac Eglwysi Cadeiriol
Posau i'w datrys - archwilio pam fod yr eglwys gadeiriol fwyaf yn y ddinas leiaf a'r eglwys gadeiriol leiaf yn y ddinas fwyaf; pam fod y capeli mor bwysig i Gymru ac i ddatblygiad diwylliannol Cymru; a pham y gadawyd cymaint o eglwysi’r abaty yn adfail i fod yn atyniadau i dwristiaid tra bod eglwysi eraill wedi parhau i wasanaethu eu cymunedau llewyrchus o gyfnod y saint, trwy gythrwfl yr eglwysi canoloesol cynnar hyd heddiw? Bydd hanesion y seintiau a’r pechaduriaid i gyd i’w darganfod ar fy nheithiau a chewch chi ddarganfod sut helpodd crefydd i oroesiad yr iaith Gymraeg.
Gerddi a Chartrefi Mawreddog
From a restored garden on Anglesey in North Wales to a garden created through shipping wealth in South Wales, Wales has plenty to offer. Why not combine a variety of gardens and historic houses - one with a working farm with rare Welsh breeds, or a beautiful landscaped garden, a sculpture garden or a woodland garden, French and Italian garden attached to a castle or a curious Italianate village in a garden on the shores of an estuary? Find out many stories of the garden designers, fashions, art on my guided tours.
Hanes a Rhaghanes
Astudiais hanes Cymru a Cheltaidd yn y Brifysgol ac rwyf wrth fy modd yn dod ag ef yn fyw ar deithiau. Mae gan bob tref a phentref ei stori ei hun gyda chestyll, eglwysi, a phobl arbennig bob amser. Ein brodorol 'Dewi Sant' (Nawddsant - Dewi) a Seintiau Cymreig eraill sydd i gyd â straeon mor ddiddorol. Os mai Celf yw eich angerdd, gallaf gynllunio taith o amgylch ein Hamgueddfa Genedlaethol ac Oriel Gelf lle gallwch ddysgu ein hanes trwy baentiadau a cherfluniau wedi'u gosod mewn adeilad gwych. Bydd taith dywys wedi’i theilwra o amgylch ein hamgueddfa (gwerin) awyr agored genedlaethol yn apelio at yr hen a’r ifanc.
Treftadaeth Ddiwydiannol
Growing up in Cardiff led me to appreciate the enormous legacy of "King Coal " - from the wealth of the Castle, Victorian Arcades and Civic Centre - to the transformation from Tiger Bay to Cardiff Bay. I can proudly guide you through the past and present development of our Capital City. You can be guided further through the South Wales valleys to discover the towns which emerged because of Coal and the lives of the miners in the "Coal Rush" of the 19th century and how the landscape is transforming.
Iaith Gymraeg
Aberystwyth University was the place where I studied Welsh for 3 years after learning it as a second language in school in Cardiff. My relatives lived in rural Carmarthenshire so I spent holidays immersed in farming and the Welsh language. Poetry and song is an integral part of the language and the best place to become immersed in this cultural experience is the Annual National Eisteddfod. We are a bilingual nation - through visiting key sites of interest around Wales I can tell you about the ups and downs of the survival and resurgence of the Welsh language - and experience plenty of 'hwyl'.
