Gothic Spire and Towers
Bodelwyddan is set in the beautiful Vale of Clwyd. It has two attractions, the amazing ‘Marble church’ and elegant Bodelwyddan Castle. These much visited showpieces are both famous for being the most extravagantly decorated buildings in the Victorian Gothic Revival style in Britain.
Join us on this short leisurely walk (approximately 2 miles return journey) from Bodelwyddan Castle to the Church.
You will learn about the family who created these showpieces; how Bodelwyddan contributed toward two world wars and the education of girls.
Commencing at 2.00pm the walk and visit to the church will take approximately 2 hours. Most of the walk will be on tarmac surface on either road or pavement. The walk is suitable for prams or wheelchairs although the return journey has a moderate climb up the hill toward the Castle.
Numbers are limited to 20 persons and families are welcome. Dogs are welcome on a short leash, however they are not allowed in the church or the churchyard.
Please bring suitable footwear and waterproof clothing.
After parking your vehicle in the Bodelwyddan Castle Car Park proceed by foot towards the castle, where your guide will meet you at the entrance kiosk.
