TOUR DESCRIPTION

Caernarfon Castle and Town Walk

The tour is a gentle stroll around this gem of a town in a captivating strategic setting.

  • A guided visit of the majestic Caernarfon Castle built by Edward I to subjugate the Welsh in  1283 (Entrance Fees apply).  The castle was the setting for the investiture of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales in 1969.
  • Stroll around this charming walled medieval market town with its ancient cobbled streets and find out about its people (the cofis) {pronounced covvys}.
  • Walk the waterfront and visit the docks of the slate industry of the past, now regenerated to a modern marina.  Learn of the tales of the sailors and their ‘escorts’ when this town was a busy port.

This tour last approximately two and a half hours
