TOUR DESCRIPTION

Anglesey has been an important island throughout history, and never more so that in Victorian times when the mine in Amlwch dominated the world copper market. You will learn of the early bronze age miners, and stories about the Victorian heyday of the mine and its effect on the people of the Amlwch area. You will learn about the ‘Copper King’ and the links between the mine and the Marquis of Anglesey. Your guide will show you the secret of extracting copper from the water in the mine, and take you around this fascinating and picturesque part of Anglesey.

You will need  shoes suitable for walking on rough terrain and clothes appropriate for the weather.

Children under 16 are free of charge, but will need to be supervised by an adult at all times in this potentially dangerous location.

Private tours can be arranged for groups of 4 or more - contact me to arrange a a day and time to suit.

Shorter tours of 1 hour duration can also be arranged.
