Walking Tour of CardiffTour ID: 80
This is a fascinating walking tour by a very experienced guide for groups around the centre of Cardiff, Wales' capital city. The tour can be tailored to meet your group's particular interests - but most groups enjoy a visit to Cardiff Castle, Bute Park, the National Museum and Art Gallery and the Civic Centre. The unique Victorian shopping arcades are a delight as is the covered market. Cardiff is a compact city and the walk is on the flat and easy for all walking abilities and all age ranges.
The walk can be extended to a three-quarter or full day by travelling by coach, water taxi from central Cardiff to Cardiff Bay, jus a short distance away. The Bay is home to a number of truly iconic buildings and two of them, the Senedd (home of the Welsh Government) and the Wales Millennium Centre offer guided tours of their interiors. There is much more to see and enjoy on the Waterfront: art displayed in the historic Norwegian Church; the Dr Who Exhibition; a tour of the BBC headquarters where our most popular programmes are made, such as Casualty and a walk along the Bay barrage is very popular. Many groups enjoy free time in Mermaid Quay, for refreshments or a meal at one of the many cafes and restaurans available.
As their guide I can take art lovers on a special tour of the numerous public art pieces dotted around the Waterfront - all with interesting stories, reflecting the develpoment of the city and the docks of Cardiff.
You can be assured that your group will be impressed by what they see and experience on their visit and will be well-informed by theit guide.
