Parys Mountain Copper MineTour ID: 44

TOUR DESCRIPTION

I can take you back on a journey through time at a site where copper was first mined in the Bronze Age. An amazing landscape which was once the largest copper mine in the world. Situated in the north western corner of the Island of Anglesey, Parys Mountain is an iconic gem located in the heart of the GeoMon international geopark. We will walk through mining history on good trails with spectacular views of the colourful landscape that has been described as 'The largest chemistry set in Wales'. A photographers paradise awaits with a number of preserved buildings and remnants of a fascinating industrial past. The site has safe access and makes an interesting and different group destination.
