Coast with the Most
2018 is Wales’ year of the sea. North Wales has over 200 miles of coastline with more Blue Flag beaches per mie than anywhere else in Britain. The isle of Anglesey itself has 125 miles of coastline with wonderful beaches, rocky headlands and large bays, is AONB; the biggest asset being its coastal path.
We have a long maritime history, and since the iron age, trade was of course over the sea. Our industrial heritage depended on this mode of transport before we had the roads and railways of today.
Most of Wales’ famous castles are raised in strategic locations on these coasts, as formidable forts to protect any invasion from the sea.
Head inland to Snowdonia for even more spectacular views of the mountains, lakes and rivers making their journeys down to the sea.
The 'Rough Guides' have named Wales as one of the top five places in the world to visit, why not experience this yourself and join me on a tour.
