The Swansea Valley, Brecon and Llandovery.Tour ID: 186

TOUR DESCRIPTION

Enjoy a scenic tour through the Swansea valley, travelling to the picturesque towns of Brecon and Llandoverey. Compare the old industrial areas around Swansea to the verdant agricultural countryside of Breconshire, passing castles and manor houses, mountains and caves, lakes and reservoirs.

Using the Brecon Beacons National Park as our backdrop, we listen to the legend of "the Lady of the Lake" and the" Doctor's of Myddfai" whilst looking at where the stories actually took place. Fact or fiction? you will decide.

Time for a stop and a cuppa in Brecon. Here, we can visit the Cathedral or, should you prefer, take a look in the "Zulu" museum. Next, it's on to Llandovery, a quaint old Welsh town, where we  visit an historic Norman castle and possibly have a close encounter with Darth Vadar ???

Our return route, again takes us through even more amazing scenery and, should fortune be on our side,we'll get a sighting' or two, of Wales's most popular bird, the magnificent Red Kite.

This is a tour full of History, Legends and outstanding scenery, plus a few laughs also, not to be found on any regular tourist trail.

Approx 6+ hours and 100mls.
