Cairns, Cairns, CairnsTour ID: 79
A moderate walk, for lovers of hills and countryside, with plenty of history thrown in. Walking over the, much overlooked, Black Mountain region of the Brecon Beacons, we visit eight Iron Age cairns, a peat bog and an abandoned limestone quarry. Magnificent views of, the precariously situated, mediaeval Carreg Cenen Castle will be our backdrop as we listen to some of the legends that abound in this area.
Although Red Kite sightings cannot be guaranteed, we do more often than not, encounter a few during our walks in this area.
A walk recommended for small groups and "Ramblers". Whilst our intention is to conduct walks for enjoyment not racing, participants do, however, need a moderate level of fitness.
Waterproof clothing and good walking shoes/boots are required.
If required, guide can meet you at your hotel and travel to start/finish point together.
